10 Year Anniversary + Family Portraits | the Geffres

Celebrating milestones is always special, and I was thrilled to take Shauna and Jordan’s tenth anniversary photos at Oakwood Park in Cottage Grove. Having previously captured their love story during their five-year anniversary, it was heartwarming to see how much had changed in just five years, especially with the addition of their adorable 19-month-old twins. The family journeyed from Iowa for the week, giving Shauna and Jordan a rare chance for a couple’s getaway while their twins were lovingly cared for by their grandparents. This time, we embraced the chaos and joy that only toddlers can bring. The twins were bursting with curiosity, exploring the vibrant flowers, soft dirt, and even acorns scattered around the park. Their delight was infectious, especially when they spotted the airplanes soaring through the skies—something I was reminded that they don’t often see back home.

One of my favorite moments was trying to recreate a fun kissing photo from their five-year session. With two active toddlers in tow, it became a fun challenge that is reminiscent of everyday life with kids. The laughter and playful antics of the twins made it all the more memorable. The only time they paused was when they needed help getting their shoes back on—a moment of stillness amid the excitement.

Shauna and Jordan, as I captured your family in this beautiful park, it is clear that your love has grown in new ways over the years. Keep committing to each other and your family, remembering us that every milestone is worth celebrating—especially with a little adventure along the way.
