Crown College in St. Bonifacius made the perfect backdrop for this sweet family’s fall session. With Lake Parley glistening behind us and the warm golden light, it honestly felt more like a summer evening than mid-September. From the very first email Selina sent me, I knew this was going to be a special session. She shared how their two kids—ages 2 and 6—are “lovely but not the easiest with photos” and that they wanted a mix of family, sibling, and parent shots. I love when families are honest about their hopes (and challenges!) because it lets me plan to capture the candid, playful moments that make sessions feel natural. And these two kiddos? They absolutely showed up ready to play! Whether they were running, giggling together, or snuggling close to mom and dad, they brought so much joy and energy. Some of my favorite images were of the kids just being themselves—curious, silly, and completely adorable. We also made time for those meaningful one-on-one moments: each parent with each child, the kids individually, and even a few of just mom and dad. There’s something so important about documenting not only the whole family together but also the unique connections within it. One fun surprise was realizing ahead of time that I had already photographed their friends Brady and Alyssa—small world moments like that always remind me of the wonderful communities I get to serve through photography. Selina, thank you for trusting me to capture your family this fall. I hope these photos feel like a little time capsule of life with your 2- and 6-year-old—full of laughter, chaos, sweetness, and love.
