It’s always fun when you just click. Like yes, totally between a couple absolutely – in fact, it’s a must. But when you just click with the couple you’re photographing? Love it! This is exactly how we felt when we met up with Kayley and Isaiah at Afton State Park a few weeks back for their engagement photos. We had previously met Kayley when we photographed her dad marrying her stepmom (You can see their fun backyard wedding with all the beautiful horses here.), but we had not met Isaiah besides a zoom call… and yet, it felt like we already had.

Halley and Zach… where to start with these two lovebirds? We’ve known Halley since she was in high school; she came along one Wednesday night to youth group and soon became a regular in our life. We’ve so enjoyed getting to know her and walking alongside of her in the bends and turns that life brings ya. Needless to say, when Halley met Zach and first described him to us, we were encouraged to hear her describing a man who seemed to love and respect her, care for and cherish her, and laugh and hold her. Is Zach perfect? I think he’d be the first to say no he’s not, but none of us are ;) So when Halley and Zach got engaged and then asked Mark to marry them and I (Lindsay) to photograph their Colorado intimate wedding? We were totally game.
Seriously you guys, we can’t even. We can’t even begin to tell you how unbelievably fortunate we feel to be able to not only hang out with awesome engaged couples on a regular basis, but to ultimately capture this unique time in the couple’s relationship – and to then capture their wedding day? Even better!
Daniel and Anna met on Bumble three years ago. The attraction was mutual, and they decided to meet up with each other for their first date. They met each other at the show “Jesus Christ Superstar” — which they now admit was a rather unique first date in that they did not get to chat face-to-face like so many couples choose, but it was the perfect choice for them. They went out to chat afterwards after sitting shoulder-to-shoulder, enjoying the show and have been inseparable since. They love to spend their time traveling and being outdoors hiking, camping, and riding bikes, so it was only natural that we picked Afton State Park as the spot for their engagement portraits — and the fall colors did not disappoint!
We planned this mini session with Adam & Kristina long before Adam reached out and shared that he was planning on proposing and wanted us to document it! (You can see that fun here as well as their 2018 and 2019 mini sessions!) So, getting to catch back up with them and hear how planning a wedding is going amidst all of the COVID craziness as well as everyday life was so refreshing! We can’t wait to see what these two will do together! Everytime we leave after connecting with them, we feel so valued and cherished, which just shows you how well these two love on those around them. Adam & Kristina, keep working towards building a beautiful marriage and not just that beautiful wedding day!
