We love it when we hear a couple’s story. While some stories match parts of other stories, we have found that no two stories are the same, just like no two couple are the same. How they met, how they got engaged, and how they love to spend their time as well as their individual backgrounds are so beautifully unique. Sam and Austin is another one of those amazing couples! We first connected with them when they reached out shortly after getting engaged to do their engagement photos and after chatting, we are also excited to be their wedding photographers next October at Breezy Point Resort!

A match made in Heaven! Sabrina and Lukas? I was talking about Mark and Lukas, but those two are pretty adorably matched also! We met up with these two a few weeks back and chatted all things while doing their engagement photos at Afton State Park – and laughing all the way!
Shortly into our time together, we realized that Lukas is a fellow COD-enthusiast. That’s Call of Duty for all those out there not in the gaming world. He also is a mechanic and, if you know Mark, that means Mark’s drooling. They chatted all things vehicles as well as about their pocket knives while Sabrina and I walked along giggling at how excited they were. You read that right. Men can have a blast while shooting engagement photos! I (Lindsay) am not sure what it is about Michaela & Josh and their engagement photos, but I keep humming the Cinderella lyrics whenever I see them! “So this is love, Mmmmmm. So this is love. So this is what makes life divine; I'm all aglow, Mmmmmm; And now I know; The key to all heaven is mine” (“So This Is Love”). Young love is just so precious and so innocent – especially amidst a world of so much change and uncertain times right now. We met up with these two first on Zoom and finally got to meet in person for their engagement photos at Afton State Park.
These two met on Christian Mingle and would describe their first date in person as the “best first date ever” – meeting at Caribou and then going on a walk with the cutest of moments in Josh picking Michaela up and carrying her over some large puddles (hence, recreating the carrying moment in their engagement photos). Flash forward to February 14th – a date with a fancy dinner and Josh leaning over to Michaela, explaining to her why she is the most precious women in his life and that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Then, reaching slowly into his pocket, fumbling around, and pulling out… his wallet. Say what? Yeah, he totally got her on that one! Not actually a proposal. Cruel? Not too much; it was all a part of him trying to throw her off his path and also to be able to say the things he’d want to say when proposing but knowing he might stumble with his words then. Just over a month ago, this fun email hit my inbox: “Hi Lindsay, Kristina and I have had our photos taken during sessions with you the past 2 years. I recently bought an engagement ring and think it would be cute to propose to Kristina during another photo session. Is this something you would be willing to do/have the ability to do? Thank you, Adam.” I believe my response started something to the effect of ”Hey Adam!! YAY!!! Absolutely love this idea!! Ahh!! So excited! Yes, please!” We chatted over email and phone over the next few weeks talking through ideas, locations, and how to go about it then on the day of the weather had a different idea.
High school sweethearts? Yes, please! Meet Reed & Maranda, two high school sweethearts who chose to adventure for their engagement photo session at Willow River State Park in Hudson, Wisconsin – a flashback to many walks among their high school years as well as a nod to the same place that Reed proposed!
These two started chatting in high school after they had been in classes together a few times. Maranda said she’s a bit more shy and that Reed is the more outgoing one, but that once they did finally start chatting, they didn’t stop. How outgoing is Reed? I believe Maranda was the one who said to watch out on their wedding day because Reed has split his pants before with how much fun he has on the wedding dance floor. (Hey Siri, remind me to bring a sewing kit…) Speaking of pants and sewing kits, these two shared that Reed’s pants were too long for their engagement portraits, so Maranda did some quick thinking and hemmed the bottoms herself – quick thinking, girl! |
