There’s something truly special about revisiting a family's story over the years through photography. This fall, I had the joy of photographing the Edholm family on a perfect, crisp autumn evening. Our journey together began when we captured their engagement portraits at a picturesque vineyard in Wisconsin, followed by documenting their wedding day at a charming barn venue in Hudson. Now, the story continues with their beautiful family of four, featuring their newest member, baby Oliver. (And by newest, I mean like 2 weeks old!) The setting sun cast a warm glow over the vibrant, golden leaves, creating an enchanting backdrop for our session. Oliver, still in his first few weeks, barely made a sound the entire session, his eyes were closed and he was snuggled in tight even in the surrounding beauty. Meanwhile, Otto, the spirited big brother, kept the energy high with his playful antics. He darted between trees, tossed sticks, and made silly faces. What stood out most was how natural this family of four already are. The Edholms navigated their session with a serene, patient grace that was inspiring to watch. Despite the usual mix of playfulness and occasional toddler unpredictability, their connection and gentle parenting made the entire process seamless. These moments—Oliver’s small body, Otto’s boundless energy, and the shared laughter of parents who have grown through so many stages together—are what make these sessions unforgettable. Capturing their story from engagement to now, surrounded by fall's splendor, felt like completing a beautiful chapter in their lives. Here’s to more memories, more laughter, and more shared milestones with the Edholm family.
