Love is in the air. Well, at least at our young adults group. These two first laid eyes on each other at our church’s Big Game Party. Yep! How exactly did they meet? Kaitlin was leaning against the wall when Taylor arrived and when she introduced herself, he said something to the effect of “Oh, that’s the name of the last girl who broke my heart.” Or something like that. Yeah. Really smooth. So how’d they end up together? Chemistry and friendship. Seriously, these two are two peas in a pod – they love to laugh and have fun. We have been able to watch their relationship these last few months, and so when Taylor popped the question, we knew we wanted to be a part of this next chapter of their lives. Kaitlin and Taylor, there’s so many things to say! Thankfully, we have plenty of time between now and your wedding day to continue to discuss life before you become man and life – as well as after! As you approach your wedding day, the biggest thing to discuss is something we already see you working on in pre-marital counseling, but it’s still so important to say: it is more important to put the time and work into building a strong foundation versus building the perfect wedding day. Your wedding day will come and go – with many special moments, as well as a few things that won’t go quite as planned. But your marriage? That is the beginning of the rest of your lives. The best thing that Mark and I adopted early on and that we need to continue to remind ourselves is the phrase, “I’m still learning.” Because while you can definitely build a strong foundation, you two are still changing and growing, and will continue to for the rest of your lives. So the best foundation? Christ alone. Seek him as your source of strength, as your source of completion, and then choose to lovingly serve one another. Love you both!
