Elise’s portrait session in downtown Hastings felt less like a traditional photoshoot and more like a conversation about transition, purpose, and stepping into a new season of life. We spent the evening walking through downtown Hastings and along the Mississippi River on one of those perfect Minnesota May nights — soft light, a gentle breeze, and the kind of evening that makes you want to slow down a little. As we explored the riverfront and quiet streets, Elise shared about the exciting changes ahead for her and her family.

Right now, she’s in the process of pursuing a career change into financial planning, stepping into something new with both wisdom and openness. There was excitement about her throughout the session — not necessarily having every detail figured out, but being willing to trust where God is leading next.

One of the things I loved most during our time together was hearing her heart for her family and her desire to remain open to what God is doing in this season. Big transitions can feel uncertain, but they can also create space for growth, clarity, and unexpected opportunities. That spirit of faith and flexibility really shaped the tone of the evening.
