There are some families you photograph, and then there are families you get to watch grow.
Josh and Erin are definitely the latter.

Their story with us actually started on our couch. Yep—their love story began right here in our home, and over the years, we’ve had the incredible privilege of photographing so many of their biggest moments. We photographed their proposal, then their engagement session, then their wedding day… and now, somehow, we’re here taking their family photos with little Jake!

And let me tell you: Jake is a huge hit around our house.

These three live super close to us, which means they can’t even walk by without getting a greeting yelled out the door at them. 😂 At this point, seeing Josh, Erin, and Jake around the neighborhood just feels like seeing family.

For this session at Lake Rebecca Park, Jake wasn’t totally sure at first what he thought about this whole “family photos” thing. But give us a little playing, some singing, and a good 1-2-3 trick, and suddenly we had him hooked.

Before long, those cautious little smiles turned into BIG laughs—the kind that had all of us belly laughing right along with him.

And then there were the puppers. Every time Jake spotted a dog, out came his adorable little “oooh ooh!”—his very special sound for when he is really excited. Naturally, we were not about to let those moments go undocumented.

What makes sessions like this so special isn’t just getting beautiful photos. It’s getting to document another chapter in a relationship we’ve been blessed to be part of from the very beginning.

From meeting on our couch to proposal pictures, engagement photos, wedding photos, and now chasing toddler giggles around Lake Rebecca… we couldn’t love this journey with Josh and Erin more. And honestly? We can’t wait to see what comes next!
