Being a wedding photographer is always a privilege, but some weddings touch your heart in ways that stay with you forever. Recently, I had the honor of photographing a beautiful and intimate wedding at Hotel Crosby in Stillwater. What made this wedding particularly special was the story behind it. This was one of the most unique weddings I have ever photographed. The couple were each at their second wedding days after being married previously, but it has been a completely separate journey. This was a remarriage as they decided to come back together and renew their commitment to each other. It is a second chance at love, but more importantly, it was about reuniting their family. Their daughter stood proudly by her mother's side as the maid of honor, and their son beamed with pride as he supported his father as the best man. The love and support from their children were palpable throughout the day. The Hotel Crosby provided a picturesque backdrop with its elegant interiors and charming surroundings, perfectly complementing the intimate ceremony. As a photographer, capturing the candid moments of laughter, tears, and pure joy was incredibly fulfilling. From the excitement before the ceremony to the heartfelt speech during the reception, every moment was a testament to their enduring love and the strength of family bonds. There were two key memorable parts of the day for me. One was when the pastor asked their son to share the ring -- he thought he was asking him to share a few words and answered he wrote them a letter with some words. We all laughed as he realized what was being asked and the wedding went on. The second was witnessing the couple exchange vows they had created themselves. They spoke from the heart about their journey together, the lessons they had learned, and their hopes for the future. It was a reminder of the power of love to heal and to bring people closer together. As I edited the photographs later, I couldn't help but smile at the genuine happiness radiating from every image. The warmth and love that filled the Hotel Crosby that day were truly infectious. It's weddings like these that remind me why I love what I do — capturing moments of love, connection, and family that will be cherished for a lifetime. In the end, being a part of their special day was not just about taking photographs; it was about preserving memories that will tell their beautiful story for years to come.
