Summer Sunrise Engagement Session along the Mississippi River at Hastings Lock & Dam 2 | Samantha & Eric

Early mornings along the Mississippi River are always beautiful and fun, especially when you're capturing the love between two people like Samantha and Eric. As a photographer, moments like these remind me why I love my job—the chance to freeze these fleeting, intimate moments in time. They will only ever enjoy this engagement period once! Samantha and Eric chose Hastings Lock & Dam 2 for their engagement session, a picturesque spot where we could take in the beauty of the river. I was thrilled to see that there was still a beach with all the rain we have had lately! Despite the windy weather that made eyes water a bit, this couple handled it with grace and humor. Samantha's laughter and Eric's smile never wavered despite the occasional gusts.

Their story is as adorable as they are together! They met while working in the Saint Paul public school system—Eric in security and Samantha in special education. Their shared passion for education and their dedication to their students bonded them instantly. Now, as they prepare to say their vows on July 27th, 2024 at Ridgetop in Prescott, WI, their love story continues to inspire.

During our session, Samantha's radiant energy was matched only by Eric's unwavering support and affection for her. I loved seeing the look in his eyes every time he looked her way. From tender moments by the riverbank to playful glances shared between poses, every shot captured their fun, loving and joyful hearts.

As we wrapped up the session, I couldn't help but feel privileged that this is my job. I get to hang out with amazing people and laugh, sharing life together and capture their relationships. The photos we captured that morning are not just images; they're visual reminders of this stage of life.
