Elise’s portrait session in downtown Hastings felt less like a traditional photoshoot and more like a conversation about transition, purpose, and stepping into a new season of life. We spent the evening walking through downtown Hastings and along the Mississippi River on one of those perfect Minnesota May nights — soft light, a gentle breeze, and the kind of evening that makes you want to slow down a little. As we explored the riverfront and quiet streets, Elise shared about the exciting changes ahead for her and her family.

Meet Sheilah. She's turning 30 at the end of the month, so she figured what better way to celebrate this milestone than to capture this stage of life. This beautiful lady comes from Kenya and currently lives with her sisters while she waits for her hubby to join her — did I mention that she also is a mama of a 2 1/2 year old? I loved that she was able to take a moment to get away and celebrate by doing a 30th birthday photoshoot just for herself.
