It all started in a college class. These two just so happened to both take it and after meeting Sierra, Andrew decided he wanted to get to know her more. When he realized she was doing tennis, that meant he decided, “Sure, why not try tennis?” They soon spent their bus rides talking as well as walking to and from practice just hanging out and getting to know each other more. The rest? History – well, not quite yet! These two were soon inseparable, especially when it came to playing sports around Crown College’s beautiful campus, enjoying different leadership positions while at school, and simultaneously growing in their relationship together and closer with God. It should be no surprise then that since so much of their relationship has happened while at Crown College, they have chosen to have their wedding day in October at…Crown College.

I love it when I show up to photograph a couple’s engagement photos and within a few minutes, it feels like we’ve been long-term friends. In fact, when I met up with Erin and Trent here at Minnesota’s Afton State Park for their engagement portraits, I mentally did a double-take where I had to remind myself that we’ve only “met” over Zoom previously and chatted over email. These two have had some crazy curveballs with their original wedding photographer backing out on their day and other things, but the long and short of it is that instead of allowing it to cause bitterness, they have chosen to let those moments go and focus on the joy of their two becoming one. These two are so natural with each other, the smiles kept coming, the giggles were oh-so-sweet, and we can’t wait to capture their wedding day next May!
Anyone else get the feeling that it's already past a week into June and ALL THE SCHEDULE THINGS ARE BACK?! Personally, I am both beyond excited at the hope of a more "normal" summer and also terrified as I look at our already busy schedule! Which is why we're announcing our 2021 mini sessions! We want to get these dates on the calendar, just as much as we want you to get these dates on the calendar. Why? Because photos with those that you love are kinda a big deal. Scratch that, they are a big deal!
It’s always fun when you just click. Like yes, totally between a couple absolutely – in fact, it’s a must. But when you just click with the couple you’re photographing? Love it! This is exactly how we felt when we met up with Kayley and Isaiah at Afton State Park a few weeks back for their engagement photos. We had previously met Kayley when we photographed her dad marrying her stepmom (You can see their fun backyard wedding with all the beautiful horses here.), but we had not met Isaiah besides a zoom call… and yet, it felt like we already had.
Halley and Zach… where to start with these two lovebirds? We’ve known Halley since she was in high school; she came along one Wednesday night to youth group and soon became a regular in our life. We’ve so enjoyed getting to know her and walking alongside of her in the bends and turns that life brings ya. Needless to say, when Halley met Zach and first described him to us, we were encouraged to hear her describing a man who seemed to love and respect her, care for and cherish her, and laugh and hold her. Is Zach perfect? I think he’d be the first to say no he’s not, but none of us are ;) So when Halley and Zach got engaged and then asked Mark to marry them and I (Lindsay) to photograph their Colorado intimate wedding? We were totally game.
