2020 Cottage Grove, MN Mini Portrait Sessions

We’re so unbelievably excited to announce another year of mini sessions! Each year this looks different but as we prepare for these this year, we can’t help but feel all the more urge of the importance of these mini sessions. We get that the budget sometimes gets tight, we get that not everyone loves being in front of the camera for long periods of time, we get that kids don’t last the longest – we get it. The point is that the longer that we live in this strange stay at home, quarantined state of COVID-19, the more that I appreciate the interaction with those that I love the most. And having them documented so that I can look back on them in the future? All the more precious.

All too often, we hear, “we haven’t gotten family photos in years” or “we haven’t taken photos since our wedding day.” And again, we get it. But we, unfortunately, have experienced the very real “this is the last photo I have of me and him before he passed away.” That’s the thing about life – it’s unpredictable. It changes each moment. From one month to the next the world can apparently shut down. But it’s also beautiful. It’s precious. And from one month to the next or one year to the next, your friends and family are growing and changing right before your very eyes. We know the temptation of trying to just snap family selfies, but wouldn’t it be nice to just show up and be together? To just show up and play? To have those precious candid moments that tell the story of that stage of life on top of the ones of everyone smiling at the camera?
 
This is why we love mini sessions. They’re twenty minutes so the kids should be able to stay somewhat entertained, the guy in your life should be able to rock it for that long, and you – you get to relax and be in the moment instead of documenting it.

To book, reserve your spot by filling out our portrait inquiry with a first and second time choice. Then, we’ll email you back with your secured spot time, contract, & invoice. If your retainer isn’t received within a week time, your spot will open up.

We're a husband and wife wedding and portrait photographer team based in Cottage Grove, Minnesota! What exactly does that mean? You'll have to find out more about us but the basic idea is that Lindsay rocks all the portrait sessions and Mark joins in the fun for engagements and wedding days (because #lifewiththreekids)!
