Baby Rock // Woodbury, MN Newborn Lifestyle Portraits

​It was hot, like really hot. All three of us adults were sweating and slightly uncomfortable, but it was oh-so-worth-it as we stood around an adorable little newborn. The little guy was a week old and to help him keep warm, we laughed at the fact that the Rock’s household was probably the only house in Woodbury in mid-July with the heat on – the things you do for a newborn portrait session!

We had hung out with Brian and Katie a month or so prior to take their maternity photos. You can see the fun from that shoot here. Now, here we were, full circle, taking photos of the little boy that Brian and Katie had been waiting for. Throughout the shoot, we talked about how crazy it was that he was finally here. It’s so surreal when you’ve been waiting so long and then all of a sudden this precious baby boy is in your arms! I remember thinking how one day the baby isn’t there and then the next day, the idea that life was without this little one already seems so foreign.
 
Brian and Katie already at only a week of parenting seem so natural with their little guy. Katie remarked that she has a rockstar hubby in that she has barely changed any diapers since Gavin had been born – way to go, Brian! 
 
Rock family, you guys are awesome! Keep encouraging each other and building each other up, Brian and Katie! Parenting is long and exhausting, but totally worth it. I can’t believe your little Gavin is already a month old! Soon you’ll have a three-year-old speaking full sentences and you’ll wonder where the time has gone, so for now, sit tight. Enjoy the baby snuggles! You deserve to take in each moment right now and savor it.
