Griffith Family // Soccer-Themed Baby Gender Reveal at Crown College in St. Bonifacius, MN3/28/2019 It's not everyday that your friend texts out of the blue and asks if you're available to come and photograph a special event a few months out, but that is certainly what happened when Alyssa texted me! I immediately called over to Mark and said, "Honey! Brady and Alyssa are pregnant again! They want us to photograph a special event!" I texted back saying it would work, and Alyssa teasingly said back that I could ask what it was for -- I didn't want to pry, but since she gave permission, I did! She shared they were having a gender reveal that day! At this point, it wasn't even public that they were pregnant, so we were super excited! Alyssa had texted months earlier asking how we had decided to have more kids, and I was really honest about how with our third, I didn't honestly "want" to have another child yet -- what? Yep. I talk about in on the blog here. She shared that when I had honestly shared my feelings about that, it prompted a conversation later with her hubby, and I made the baby book story!
March 16 finally arrived and Mark & I arrived early at our alma mater, Crown College, to scope out the soccer fields. We had had the snowiest February on record in Minnesota, but in just the last week it had finally gotten a bit warmer, so the 2+ feet of snow that we had was now a much more compacted 6ish inches of snow. We made our way to the far soccer field and laughed as we would walk along and fall through the snow at moments and walk normal on top at other moments. Brady played with the soccer ball in his hands, careful not to drop it, while Alyssa explained the drill to the family. We lined up and watched as Brady dropped the soccer ball and kicked it right at the goal in an explosion of PINK! And let me tell you, the crowd went WILD! I especially loved Alyssa's mom's reaction (as you can see her on the far right in the images below). Brady and Alyssa, thanks so much for asking us to capture this precious moment in your family's lives! We feel so privileged and honored to walk alongside you in this exciting journey and can't wait to walk into the world of girls together!
