Friends! We are so excited to share this Grand Event Center Wedding with you today! It’s hard for us to believe that Kari and Michael’s wedding day has already passed by. We remember shivering together with them in downtown Stillwater for their engagement photos like it was yesterday, but, alas, here we are! A Cinco de Mayo wedding? Yes, they happened to choose that awesome date and the case of the traveling sombrero did happen a bit behind the scenes. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect day for their day! The sun was shining but not too hot, the earth was finally turning green thanks to all of our late snow, and Michael and Kari were surrounded by friends and family who so evidently were excited about the new step these two were taking. People ask us all the time if we like shooting with each other as husband and wife, and the answer is YES! We love shooting together! Did it take some time to get used to? Absolutely, but getting to hang out with our best friend for an entire day and walk alongside two other best-friends-becoming-spouses is such a privilege! Especially when they’re as cool as Michael and Kari! If you haven’t had a chance to check out Michael and Kari’s downtown Stillwater engagement photos, we’ll quickly share a recap of their story. These two met online – one in Minnesota and one in New York. They met in person a few months shortly after, followed by dating and Michael moving to Minnesota, and a Stillwater proposal. At their wedding, Michael’s best man, Martin, shared about how Michael is a very persistent person and a few years prior to meeting Kari he had asked Martin how he’d know a girl was the one for him. Then, he found Kari and poured that persistence into their relationship. You could see such passion in Michael for Kari all throughout the day – from the giddy excitement as he had to hold his hand over his eyes until the first look to the emotional tears as he watched his bride take step after step closer towards him down the aisle. In fact, he even almost tried to sneak in a kiss before THE kiss during the ceremony and when he realized what he was doing – almost kissing his bride through the veil and all, it made for some great laughs as their friends and family couldn’t help but joyfully giggle at these two’s love for one another. Kari and Michael, you two amaze us by your patience and love for one another as well as your humility and desire to encourage those around you. We hope you enjoyed your honeymoon and can’t wait to see where God takes you two next! THE CREATIVE TEAM
