Kaylyn and Alan // Intimate and Romantic Gazebo Wedding at Chaska City Square Park in Minnesota10/2/2018 Star Wars or Star Trek starcraft? That was the first big interaction between these two. While they had met in a communication class at Crown College as they were fellow Communication majors, this was the first time they first struck a personal conversation -- at least however personal you can get online over a Facebook status. Alan was on the side of Star Wars but Kaylyn soon commented that he was choosing wrong and needed to go for the Star Trek option. This simple conversation that started online soon developed into a beautiful friendship and relationship offline -- making these two inseparable. Kaylyn says that they love to spend time outdoors with each other but that Alan is definitely more of the outdoor enthusiast than her. Having an outdoor and small, intimate wedding at the gazebo at Chaska City Square Park was an easy decision for these two. When we talked about being their husband and wife wedding photographer team, Kaylyn shared that they had gone here on a photography outing when they were just friends. One of them were taking the class and the other came along for the ride. At one point, Kaylyn was sitting on a bench and Alan tried to sneak a picture of her but she totally busted him -- you'll see the exact bench in a photo below. The sheer amount of joy on these two's wedding day is hard to put to words! It was a cold and windy September day (in the 40s versus our normal 60s for this time of year), but these two stayed warm and super smiley as they repeatedly mentioned to each other, "It's our wedding day!" There were definitely moments where Kaylyn was covered in blankets and, even at one point, Alan wrapped a blanket around her feet as if she were a baby tree. While the blankets were spread around, it was evident that the intimate wedding party where so enthralled about this step that they couldn't help but overflow with excitement. One of our favorite parts of the day was watching Kaylyn's grandpa rest his hand so lovingly and gently on Kaylyn's grandma's shoulder the entire wedding ceremony. To see a couple how many years down the road, still displaying such tender love and affection was a beautiful testimony to the step that Alan and Kaylyn took.
Kaylyn and Alan, we hope you enjoyed your mini honeymoon and get prepped for your bigger one next year! We pray that this transition into married life will draw you two closer to each other but more importantly, closer to God as you rely upon Him for strength and wisdom on how to grow and love one another. We are so excited for two fellow Crownies to be getting married and were so honored to be a part of your wedding day! You have beautiful families who so evidently love and support you in this; we pray that this continues throughout your entire marriage!
