Nathan and Cali // Minnesota Golden Hour Engagement

Meet Nathan and Cali, who met 3 ½ years ago through a mutual friend in Duluth. He’s from Michigan and she’s from Minnesota. Little Brown Jug, anyone? If you know don’t know my husband, Mark, and my history, we love our Michigan Wolverines. Mark lived in Ann Arbor for 7 years and my dad is from Trenton, Michigan; so yes, we live in Minnesota, but we root for the Wolverines.
So, when Nathan mentioned he was from Michigan during our meeting at Caribou, I had to ask Nathan if he was a Spartan or Wolverine. The first check was to see if he knew what  I meant. Thankfully, he passed with flying colors, saying that he was a Wolverine fan. Another fun connection to these two is that Cali works with my sister-in-law, Sara, as a registered nurse at St. Francis. In fact, this she shared that this is how she found us. Sara likes our Wiggins Photography facebook page, so Cali checked it out and reached out to us after chatting to Sara.
When I asked Nathan how he proposed to Cali, he shared that they love their dog, Hank, and the outdoors, so he wisely put the two together and proposed to her during a walk with their pup. I can only imagine how any time they go on a walk now and in the future, they’ll remember the walk that changed the rest of their lives. The time that Nathan got down on one knee. The time that Cali said yes. They’ll walk hand in hand, squeezing each other’s hand as they smile from the happy memories and glance at each other.
Nathan and Cali, thanks so much for hanging out at Spring Lake Park Reserve for your engagement photos! I loved meeting Hank! You two are both so down-to-earth and relaxed. My favorite moment from your session was when the sheriff came out of nowhere on the trail and we all laughed at the randomness of it and how he stopped to stay hi. I loved watching how you to talked to each other when the camera was down, holding such respect and admiration to one another. Before you know it, your wedding day will be here! We are so excited to walk alongside you in this new adventure!
