I think one of the most commonly heard things on a family photo session is that the family has been wanting their family portraits for a long time and they just finally got around to do it. You’d think that I’d find this frustrating, but, to be honest, been there and totally doing that myself. What is it about life that has some days seem like they are moving so slow (especially in the mundane stages of parenting) all the while seemingly moving by so fast? So to all my fellow mamas out there, wishing that they’d gotten their family photos done last year… stop. Yes, stop. You can’t go back and do them, but you can do them now. Thankfully we live in the day and age where you probably have taken hundreds (if not thousands) of photos of your little ones and hopefully have a selfie or two with yourself in them, but let’s not waste another year without documenting the entire family. Let’s take a moment and allow ourselves to be in the moment. This is the case for the Ress family. We first met this family when we were neighbors at the condo development where we used to live. Their sweet oldest was not so big the last time we saw them, and now they’ve added on two additional and oh-so-precious boys into the family picture. When I first saw Kiana again she said, “I’ve been only meaning to have you take our family photos for like what… three years?!” Totally get it, girl! So here’s to Kiana getting it on the family schedule and hopefully these photos will be ones they can cherish for years to come. Photos that show the stage and relationships of life at this stage, because they go by so fast and life is short. Kiana and Tyler, it was so fun to see you again! Your kids are so fun, so full of life and adventure. It was such a pleasure to capture your family portraits! Hopefully it won’t be too long before next time!
