Rose Family // Sunny St. Croix Bluffs Portraits

When Amber, the mom of the Rose family, first reached out to me she shared that they haven't gotten family photos done before outside of the realm of selfies. I love when families are willing to step out and trust me with their photos -- it's a huge honor I don't take lightly! She had attached a photo of their last Christmas family selfie that she created with a timer and had set up herself. She told me not to laugh, but I have to say I was super impressed! Getting 3 kids to look at the camera, run back and forth, and look natural is not an easy task -- been there done that! 
 
This family is a family who courageously set out on a chilly day to get their family photos accomplished. They love the outdoors so St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park was a natural pick. Derek shared that they go their quite often to go out on the boat and hangout at a local sand island. Getting to meet up at St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park was so fun since the last time I have been there was Anthony & Jessi's wedding day! We took mini breaks to throw rocks into the river, hiked up a fun trail, and tried not to get too chilly with the windy breeze.  

Rose family, thanks for the fun adventure! Yes, it was cold and at times hard to keep those smiles from freezing, but you stuck it out and I hope you love your photos as much as I do! My favorite moment from your session was when I took photos of Derek and Amber (the parents). The way you naturally get close to each other and were willing to take a quick smooch as well as easily laughed with each other brings me such joy as I know your children are so blessed to see such a loving marriage relationship.
