We met through one of my college best friends, Anna, on her wedding weekend. Heading out to the middle of Nebraska, Autumn was the maid of honor in Anna’s wedding and I was a bridesmaid. I remember watching Autumn and being so impressed (and partially intimidated) by how solid she was, how highly Anna regarded her, and how loving she was to her hubby. We probably had seen each other around before this day, but I don’t remember a prior meeting — in fact, Autumn has shared she sat behind me a few years prior in a church service and saw Mark and I being all cutesy coupley.
Any who, almost a year after the wedding day, I was FaceTiming Anna to show our new house as we had moved and she said, “Wait a second! That looks like John & Autumn’s house!” She looked up their address and realized they were in the same neighborhood! I remember sending her a message over Facebook, reintroducing myself and sharing we were now neighbors — she sweetly invited me to a party at her house the following Saturday and the rest is history! This girl had been here for so much. She’s walked me through both pregnancies, cried with me, laughed with me, prayed with me, listened, went on countless walks with me, encouraged, challenged, and loved on me. Her hubby, John, has been just as much of an encouragement to Mark. They’ve gone on numerous early morning workouts, enjoy sharing stories and silly dad jokes, and have regularly met up to chat about life. And don’t even get us started on the blessings their two little girls are! I’ll never forget when Afton spit up during her 3-month photo session and I got a photo midstream – ha! Andersons, we are so grateful for the blessing God gave when He put us in the same neighborhood and that even when you moved away, we have still remained close friends. We love you all so much and can’t wait for your next visit!
