The first thing I was told when I met this family is that they don’t do very well at family photos. I seriously think they were pulling my leg, because as you can see, the Hoffmans knocked it out of the park. The mom even came directly from a youth retreat where you know she probably got little to no sleep. Not only did I not see her yawn once, but also she planned and coordinated outfits for the entire family – supermom, anyone?
Andrew and his girlfriend, Bailey, purchased this session as a Mother’s Day gift. What a precious way to commemorate his mom and also to capture this special stage of their family’s life. I was so honored to be asked to tag along in the journey. This group was not afraid to get silly. They laughed a lot, they made fun of themselves when they were “awkward,” they took countless squad photos, and they even had a short leaf fight (see the shot of Andrew and Bailey below). Hoffman family, you officially cannot say you are not good at family photos anymore. Your love for one another and desire to have fun as you are together shone through any awkwardness. My favorite moment was when we did the sibling shot at the end and the girls were laughing so hard as they did the piggyback ride. It reminds me of my own relationship with my siblings. I pray that these photos will become timeless keepsakes in the years to come and that they will remind you of the different stages of life now. Connie, I hope you got to rest up after the youth retreat, but I know all too well how busy student ministries can keep a person, so I’m sure you didn’t rest too long! Hope to see you all again soon!
