1. Know the season.
2. When in doubt, Pinterest it out.Having a hard time knowing what to style your group in for fall photos? Totally get it! First of all, pick an outfit that you’d actually wear. There is no sense in wearing jeans and a plaid shirt if you’re always in a dress or a dress if you’re always in jeans and a plaid shirt. Still not sure? Okay, set a timer and head to Pinterest. I don’t know about you, but I can spend wayyy too much time on that site. Pinterest is super useful in this area though. Head on over and type in “what to wear for fall photos” and you’ll get tons of great ideas! Or, you can totally head to my board all set up for you here.
4. Be prepared to feel a bit awkward.Want to know a secret? Even movie stars feel weird in front of the paparazzi. So, feeling a little uncomfortable in front of the camera is super normal. In fact, we always say that the first 15 minutes is the weirdest. You’re getting used to looking at the camera. Soon enough we’ll be having a conversation and you’ll be feeling more at ease. The only exception to this is kids – they usually do the best in the first fifteen minutes, so if your fall photo session involves kids, we like to start with them as their focus doesn’t last too much longer ;) Another way to help fight feeling awkward is expressing any of your expectations to us before the photo session date or at the beginning! Then try your hardest to stop focusing on it and have fun. In fact, we love candid moments as much if not more than the staged photos. You’re on your way to getting the best fall photos in Minnesota!
