Vermillion Falls Hiking Engagement Session // David and Jolene

It was a fun anniversary trip. A moment to celebrate. A getaway to relax. Heading to the North Shore to visit Duluth and Gooseberry Falls was one of their favorite activities. To get out into the fresh air, to laugh out loud without anyone nearby, and hip check along the way -- the best. David knew this trip was not any ordinary anniversary excursion, but Jolene had no idea. They hiked a fun path at Gooseberry and when they got to a particularly beautiful spot, David had a plan. Jolene loved selfies. He knew he could distract her with that. He asked if they could take one together. No sooner had she reached for the phone that David ducked behind her, reached for the ring, and got down on one knee. She pulled up the camera app and realized he was no longer standing behind her. She turned around. There, on one knee was David. "Shut up!" was all she could say. Of course, David knew what she meant; he officially had found his beautiful bride. On the way back to the car, they stumbled upon an older couple and shared the exciting news, asking to get their photo taken. The older couple cheerfully obliged and shared that they two were celebrating their anniversary, then walked away holding hands and still loving one another after all those years -- a relationship goal David and Jolene seek to have.


David and Jolene, Mark & I are so excited for your wedding day! We can’t wait to see the Terra Nue Farms’ sunflower patch and to take in all your gorgeous gray and blush decorations, but what we’re most excited for, above all the details, is to walk alongside you. To take in the first look with your dad, Jolene, and then in turn take in your first look as a couple. To meet the amazing friends and family members that you talked about and share the joy of your day with you all. To see how you commemorate your mom, Jolene, by using the bouquet and buttons from her wedding day. It’ll be here before you know it! We can’t wait!!
