I think the coolest part of being a family is in the word “being.” Now, hear me out before drawing conclusions. Have you heard the phrase “you’re not a human doing, you’re a human being”? It’s like that. If we’re always trying to do, time goes by, and we weren’t able to be. Being as a verb comes from the word “be” which is defined by Oxford Languages as “exist; be present.” Therefore, if we want to be a family, we have to exist and be present in each other’s lives. So, when the Hobbs family reached out and asked to schedule a family mini photo session where they would just “be,” I was totally game. It’s always an honor to do family photos, but all too often I can see families get so focused on doing photos, it can be a challenge to photograph them how they truly want to be. Hobbs family, thanks for again trusting me with capturing this precious stage of your life! It’s been an honor to document you guys as you have grown both in years and numbers. It’s crazy to think that the first time we connected, you only had one little guy, and now you have three kids on this precious planet. We pray you continue to find time to be present in one another’s lives!
