Successfully surprised Erin with asking the question? Yes! Josh rocked his proposal on the dock at Cottage Grove's Ravine Park! Maybe it’s just me, but him not feeling 100% really worked in his favor, because while Erin saw a proposal coming, she didn’t see it on this night – hence, the comfy clothes she wore she says. After all, it was just another one of their favorite walks, right? I’m not sure how Josh and Erin first met, but I know it has to do with going to our church and they just so happened to be in our young adult group together, so we’ve pretty much been along for their journey since the beginning. I remember the first time Josh visited church. It was probably the weirdest Sunday to start: we threw a surprise retirement party during the service for our senior pastor and then we had a lunch afterwards. Josh tells us he had little intention of staying but an older gentleman told him he had nothing better to do – ha! Brilliant! Ever since then, he’s stuck around and Erin’s been at our church since being born, so they couldn’t help but bump into each other along the way. We’ve had so much fun watching this relationship grow. From the “friend” but so obviously crushing stage, to the sitting closer to the guy versus your best girlfriend stage, to now being involved in the proposal? Yes, please! I may or may not have received countless mosquito bites while handing behind a garbage can waiting for Josh and Erin to come into view on the dock… and scared a few children throwing away garbage in the process. Josh & Erin, we are so excited for you to take this next step and beyond blessed to come along with you on this journey! Keep loving God, keep growing in your love for one another, and keep showing Christ’s love to the world!
