7 days old. Yup, you heard that right! This little precious one is 7 days old! And the family managed to make it to an outdoor mini sessions on time with two other sweet littles. Seriously impressive! When Jenna reached out to share that their sweet little Hazel had arrived, she asked to schedule a mini session at the end of October. I wrote back that I’d recommend sooner rather than later and said I’d open a spot for them the coming Sunday if they could make it work, because in Minnesota, you never know just how cold it might get or if we would get snow. Little did I know that we would have a windy-but-nice 60-degree day and that we would realize how grateful we would be that we switched to meeting sooner as temps are now in the 30s, and we got 6 inches of snow this week. Did I mention it’s just past mid-October?! I’ve had the privilege of photographing the Leppke’s the past few years and their little Henry and Everly are the cutest! But getting to now watch them with their new baby sister...adorable! Also, for having three kids and the littlest being only one week old, you’d never know it by looking at Levi and Jenna. They were calm and collected, sweet and patient with the kids, truly seeming to master the ability to be present and not feel rushed within family photos — as a photographer and mom of three kids, I can’t tell you how impressive and a gift that is! Leppke family, I can only imagine the changes that this new little addition has brought in a world that has seemed to change immensely this past year. I looked up the meaning of the name “Hazel,” and in Hebrew, it means “God sees.” What a beautiful meaning and name to speak over your precious little one as these days carry on. Thank you again for trusting me to document this precious stage of life — and for taking my word on a sooner-rather-than-later mini session!
