I never understood how people could say they blinked and their baby turned 18. How could that happen? But then, we had our first child and here we are already four years later with two additional adorable kiddos! I can only imagine that’s how Brian and Katie are already feeling about little Gavin. It feels like only yesterday that we were taking their maternity portraits in downtown St. Paul. You can see the full maternity session blog here, but to summarize it, we could see some epic clouds coming in the distance at the start of the session. We worked quickly and finished before it started raining. Just as we were walking to the vehicles, the wind picked up and the rain came down – like literally down poured. We laughed so hard as we tried to get the umbrellas closed and into the car. Fast forward a few months and I arrived at Brian and Katie’s home to take Gavin’s newborn portraits that you can see here. We laughed that we were the only house in Woodbury in July with the heat on with trying to keep the adorable little guy snuggly and warm.
Fast forward a year and the photos you see will tell it all. You won’t necessarily see the long nights and early mornings, the google searches, and multiple diaper runs, but you will see the laughter and smiles, the loving looks towards one another, and all the snuggles! Brian and Katie, congrats on making it to the first birthday of little Gavin! You have many more to go, but you’ve made it through the craziest transition time of this little guy’s life! We know it’s not always easy, but we pray that you will continue to press on – soaking up the stage you’re in, reminiscing on the stage you just were in, and excitedly awaiting the next stage! Hope you had an awesome birthday party – and didn’t have too much fun with those helium tanks ;)
