Imagine with me that a few short months before your wedding day, the entire world is immersed into a pandemic. Life quickly changes from just starting to emerge from winter hibernation as spring is finally coming to disappearing into houses, working at home, walking on the opposite side of the street if someone is coming, schools closed through the end of the year, and weddings cancelled. The beautiful wedding that you have spent hours, weeks, and months planning at Hope Glen Farm suddenly out of reach. As restrictions continue to, well, restrict and then riots cause our state to call in the national guard, all of it seems so heavy, so overwhelming, so crazy – and more than enough to make anyone or any couple into a bit of a bridezilla. Not at all the case with Rebekah and Lucas, what a breath of fresh air amidst the literal rollercoaster of emotions! We emailed, chatted, and texted often in the days leading up to their wedding and I described to Rebekah that it didn’t even feel like an emotional rollercoaster anymore, it felt like a spinning tea cups ride where you think you’re going to get sick and when is this going to end? Rebekah remained calm, Lucas right there in agreement with her. She said she had an unbelievable peace about their day that God was going to work things out. A week before their wedding, the restrictions were lifted enough that they could have their intimate wedding. Their wedding day was an absolutely perfect representation of their relationship – so beautiful, yet laid back and refreshing. Rebekah was absolutely stunning and radiated such joy. Lucas was very GQ and every time he looked at Rebekah, you could see he felt all was right in the world. The two were surrounded by their closest friends and family and prayed over repeatedly throughout the day to center the start of this new chapter on Christ. They ended the night running through sparklers and literally escaped the day in a pontoon boat at sunset. Rebekah & Lucas, you two are amazing! Thank you so much for allowing us to capture your most precious day and we can’t wait to hang out again for your wedding celebration in August at Hope Glen Farms! We pray you’ve enjoyed our honeymoon and will continue to enjoy loving on each other each and every day!
