Romantically Rustic Barn Wedding // Settlement Hill Farms in Hudson, WI // Rachael & Andy

You know how when some people ask how you are doing they really care? That when they smile softly you can see the glimmer of kindness in their eyes? This is the best way that I can explain Rachael and Andy. These two are the sweetest couple: so down-to-earth, so genuine, and absolutely radiating with love for one another. We were blessed to be their wedding photographers and walk alongside them in their wedding day as a husband and wife photography team. And getting to explore the beautiful Settlement Hills Farm in Hudson, Wisconsin? All the more special! Settlement Hill Farm is a beautiful venue that’s been open for weddings about 7 years. The owners bought it in 1996 and have done a gorgeous job renovating it to make it perfect for a wedding day!

If we were to describe Andy & Rachael’s day, we would repeat what the officiant, Rachael’s uncle, shared at the end of the ceremony when he instructed the guests to “party hard!” Everyone was obviously having a blast on their wedding day, and why wouldn’t they? Rachael and Andy had thought of every single detail. They even went down to the fact of choosing last fall to have the wedding under the apple orchard trees in case it would be hot – which it certainly was! 89 degrees and 95% humidity. But did that slow them down? No! They had planned ahead with ice water baskets full of water bottles for their guests, and just in time for the ceremony, some lovely clouds appeared.

But those weren’t the only details they took the time to focus on! Andy loves to hunt, and Rachael works at a fun shop called the Bees Knees in Hudson. We were amazed how Rachael and her mom not only incorporated his love for hunting but also her love for the Bees Knees in such a classic & elegant way! Rachael’s mom is an interior designer, so she definitely showed her skills!

Rachael and Andy, it feels like just yesterday we were walking the vineyard and fields among the mist at your engagement portraits, and yet here we are posting your wedding photos! We are so excited for you two as you begin this journey as man and wife! Praying you continue to have a heart for Christ, others, and one another!
