Reed & Maranda // Gorgeous Barn Wedding at Historic John P. Furber Farms in Cottage Grove, Minnesota

We first met Reed and Maranda a little over a year ago as their search for wedding photographers began for their wedding day at Historic John P. Furber Farms in Cottage Grove. We had fun chatting, and soon it was time to take their engagement photos, and I remember coming home and telling Mark that Reed and Maranda were the type of people we’d want to hang out with. Reed is out-going and fun, sharing his wealth of ecology if you step out into nature with him, whereas Maranda is supposedly more shy and has successfully completed nursing school. We have to say we didn’t see this shy side in Maranda on her wedding day but a confident RADIANT bride who was absolutely in love with the idea of forever marrying her man.

These two had so much fun with the details. Details like the handkerchief Maranda held around her bouquet that was her great-grandmother’s, and the ring that they used during the ceremony for Reed is the ring that Maranda’s grandfather made out of a coin while he served during WWII in Ireland, or that Reed handpicked socks for each of his groomsmen to tell a story about each one’s personality. But even more beautiful than the details is the way that Reed and Maranda looked at each other on their day. We have never seen a couple so completely at ease in each other’s arms, so joyful to become one, and have so much fun on the dance floor! Yes, we saw some of Reed’s moves. And no, he didn’t rip his pants on the dance floor – at least while we were there.

Reed and Maranda, thanks so much for trusting us on your wedding day! We felt like lifelong friends who were there to celebrate with you, and we’re so excited for your next journey! We hope you had an amazing time in Maine for your honeymoon!
