How cute is this little one? Would you believe me if little Gabriel here came five weeks early? While Mom and Dad expected to have him a week early, they were quite surprised when Anna's water broke. Shortly after, they went to the hospital and Gabriel made his entrance! Daniel's sister reached out a few months ago about desiring to gift a newborn portrait session. This was extra fun because we first met up with these two when we took their engagement portraits and then had the pleasure of capturing their wedding day in downtown Minneapolis. It was an intimate day then and being invited in-home to document the special snuggles and first days home was an even more precious moment. Gabriel rocked his session, sleeping almost the entire time, with only peeking an eye open at the very end after a diaper change. My favorite moments were watching him being so loved by everyone around him. The kisses and cuddles in his bedroom, which was adorably decorated in a little explorer theme, just show how loved this little one is. One that I was not expecting to be so perfectly loving was the family dog, but he is such a little buddy, cuddling up close and happy while still perfectly giving baby Gabriel the right amount of space and not too much energy. It reminds me of how fun it has been to watch our son grow up with our dog and how lovingly she watched and laid by his playmate as he grew -- and kept just out of hands reach when he became more mobile. Daniel and Anna, you two looked so good for being in this very sleepless stage! Continue to treat each other with the love and tenderness you showed in your home, continue to wrap little Gabriel in your warm embrace, and continue to be a light in this world. We are so excited for you! Thanks again for having us document this special stage of life!
