I don’t know about you, but I’ve always thought sunflowers were beautiful. But an entire field of sunflowers that you can walk through and take photos at? That’s a thing? Thanks to Instagram, I now know that yes, yes, it is! So when Megan’s mom reached out saying that Megan needed her senior photos taken and that she’d like her senior portraits at a sunflower field, I was all for it! The tricky part about sunflower fields is that they last only about two weeks – sad, yes! Trying to schedule out a senior session a month or two in advance makes this rather challenging! Thankfully, Green Barn and Garden Center in Isanti is brilliant and has two fields so that way when one stops blooming, the other sunflowers are opening up! We met up in Isanti, enjoyed our time walking amidst the sunflowers and evading the many bumblebees doing their job. Let me tell you though that once we got up on the “Stairway to Sunflower Heaven” I could see why it’s so aptly name. They are truly beautiful, and you could spend some serious time just taking in the views from up there! Megan, her sister Julie, and her mom were amazing – willing to help carry and sharing their favorite shows and music to listen to amidst this COVID time. Megan in particular loves K-pop and K-dramas, which she has said are as good as American without as much of the disgusting drama (note to self to check it out in free time!). Megan, congrats on making it to your senior year! I can only imagine that like everything the past few months, it’s probably not exactly how you planned it would go, but continue to press on. Allow this year to shape you into who you want to become – recognizing that your life is leading you in the direction of your strongest thoughts. We hope you have an amazing year and a great time PSEOing at Northwestern!
