It’s hard to believe how quickly Minnesota can turn, but here I stand looking out my window at the snow on the ground only three weeks after Grady, his mom, and I walked the trails at Afton State Park for his senior photos on an absolutely gorgeous & crisp fall night. Grady is a Stillwater High School senior and is a math and science guy – and by the sounds of it a pretty seriously skilled one too! Like most other seniors, he’s in the process of figuring out his college decision but seems to have it pretty well narrowed down (I won’t spoil it in case he hasn’t officially decided and/or declared to friends & family ;D). When you walk with Grady along the park, he comes across as a very thoughtful guy. He’s quiet, yet once you start to chat with him, you can tell he knows way more than what he’s leading on to -like the fact that he’ll hopefully be an official Eagle Scout in a few more months, or that he can play the cello, or how he is a big time cross country runner, or how he went backpacking in New Mexico with his dad for two weeks. I bet if we would have walked and talked more, there would have been way more iceberg under the tip of who Grady is – and that’s why I love this job: getting to hear other people’s stories and walk alongside them in this exciting stage of life is amazing! Grady, congrats on being a senior! I am sure that before you know it, you’ll be graduated, you’ll be an eagle scout, and you’ll be on your way to college. Keep pressing on and working out that endurance. Keep training for your goals and practicing, and keep enjoying life now while looking towards the future. You’ve got this!
