Battle Creek Park Maternity Portraits in St. Paul, MN // Maia & Paul

Maia and Paul are a sweet Cottage Grove couple who are adding a little baby boy any day now. I love these last few moments before baby comes into the world. While it feels like a lifetime of waiting in the moment, looking back on it, it truly does go by fast! This is why it is so important to document this stage of life, so when they reached out and said they decided to do maternity photos, I was totally game to get them on the calendar.

When I asked how these two met, it seems that they either met in Sunday school – how cool is that? – or by the fact that Maia’s piano teacher was also Paul’s grandma. Such a small world! So they have grown up most of their life knowing each other. They grew up in youth group together and are now still hanging out in church together while they serve alongside each other in children’s ministry. These two are self-declared nerds with Paul loving Star Wars and Maia loving Harry Potter. (See the cute photos on this below!)

Maia and Paul, I was so honored to get to walk alongside you two and capture this special moment of life! While the days ahead may have many crazy turns and changes, continue to rest in Jesus and cling to one another. One such song this makes me think of is Elevation Worship’s “Dancing” – its lyrics say,
“Even if the sun drops out of the sky, even if the stars stop shining at night, even if the drummer stops keeping the time, if your hands are in mine, I won’t stop dancing. Dancing on the mountain of a victory, dancing through the valley of a broken dream, dancing on the plains of the in-between, if it’s you and me, I won’t stop dancing.”
The gist is, whatever is ahead, choose to remain close, dancing with each other. Preferably without stepping on each other’s feet too often ;) Much love!
