This is a special one for us! Erin has been an amazing friend for a very long time and at one point was a youth group student under Mark when we first came to our church, Hope Community Church in Cottage Grove. We have watched her grow up, we have seen her go off to college and come back to find a job, and we have prayed with her for her future hopes and dreams. Then one day, Josh came walking into our church. He picked probably one of the strangest Sundays to attend with it being a surprise retirement party for the senior pastor and then was roped in to stay for lunch by one of the gentlemen in our church. Somehow, we found him in our house on our couch for a young adult gathering, and who else happened to be there? Erin. They started hanging out and never stopped. Our kids light up when these two walk by. They have become like another aunt and uncle who are always ready to listen, have fun playing along, and just love them so well. So when they asked for the three of them to be included in their wedding day, Mark to marry them, and me to photograph it we heartily said yes! Their ceremony was a beautiful symbol of the two unique families becoming one, pointing to God’s handiwork in and through it all, and celebrating this next step as they draw closer to each other while pursuing God’s purpose for their lives. As Erin’s mom read, Josh and Erin took the time to seal the letters for the future that they will read over and over again, inviting those around them to write notes of encouragement to set their hearts and minds on in the coming days. Our favorite moment of their day was on the dance floor, and to us gives such a true nod to their hearts, as they spent the evening of their wedding primarily dancing with all the kids from our church (after dancing their first dance with the kids lined up on the floor to watch). Josh and Erin, we love you guys! We are so excited to have you both officially so close to us and for you to be in this new stage! Thank you for letting each one of us be a part of your special day! We had a hard time narrowing down this blog post, but here are a few of our many favorite moments!
