Precious. Life is just so precious. One moment, you’re taking engagement photos with the pup, the next moment you’re walking down the aisle towards the one that you love, moments later you’re waiting with anticipation to welcome the precious baby you’re carrying into the world, and before you know it, your firstborn is now blossoming into a big sister. How did it all go so quickly? I finally understand how parents of older kids describe their child's life passing by in the blink of an eye -- a quick moment where we’re transported from one to the next. This is how I feel about my sweet kiddos and how I feel about getting to document the latest Rush family addition, little Miss Bailey.

Welcoming a new little one to the family is always such a precious thing. Getting to be welcomed into a family’s home to document their everyday life in the addition of a little one? Even better! Especially when it's the second time getting to! (See Evelyn's newborn session here.) We love the chance to get to be more on the behind the scenes side of photography, to see everyday life, and get to capture photos within a space that you will forever remember as the place you brought your little ones home. So precious! The new little guy on the block here is named Wyatt, and he absolutely rocked his newborn portrait session! Even though he was a week past what we’d call the newborn stage due to rescheduling since big sissie wasn’t feeling 100%, he stayed awake peacefully almost the entire time and only made one sound -- and it was that adorable little newborn squished sound (one of my favs).

What a cutie, I know! This little lady has settled in nicely to life around the house with mom & dad — and her two fur siblings (who as you’ll see in the photos are totally willing to also shower her with love and attention!) It was such a privilege to be able to capture the everyday moment of family cuddles in Lilah’s adorable bedroom! What I love about lifestyle photos is the opportunity to be relaxed in your own home, to not worry about if you have remembered to bring everything or not, and to capture the everyday — I’m all for family photos in the gorgeous outdoors, but especially in these little moments, it’s beyond precious to capture the time as it was.

​Ahh the preciousness of a newborn baby girl – you can’t help but want to snuggle with them (which is challenging considering all the social distancing going on these days!). We were so honored when Stephen & Lori asked us again to come into their home and document their newest bundle of joy. We spent a few moments indoors capturing the tiny features of their adorable little one – the tiny hands, cute button nose, and little toes – can’t help but love it! And then we spent of the rest of the evening out in their backyard amidst a beautiful late summer evening with cousins, grandparents, & family all around.

Newborn babies? Yes, please! It was so fun to meet up with Melanie & Anthony to photograph their beautiful baby girl in the home that they built together! We first met these two at Nathan & Cali’s wedding almost two years ago! I was pregnant with our third little one, and my sister-in-law was also at the wedding pregnant with their first kiddo who ended up being born a few days later! Since then, we’ve also had the honor to capture Nathan & Cali’s maternity photos and a lifestyle session with their sweet little girl! All this to say, small world and so fun to come full circle to now capture the Kasper’s newborn photos in their beautiful home!
